California set aside $75 million to assist undocumented adult residents who were not eligible for federally-managed coronavirus relief payments enacted in March. A qualifying adult could receive $500 in direct assistance, with a maximum of $1,000 in assistance per household. The state's funding, supplemented by an additional $50 million from foundations and private contributors, is expected to reach more than 150,000 undocumented adults.
