NO

The city of Dorval, in Quebec, has denounced the claim circulating on social media as a false story, saying the mayor has never made comments like that.

A photo included in a social media post making the claim doesn't even show the mayor of Dorval -- it shows a Belgian politician.

The city first denounced the post when it appeared in 2015. The post, with an anti-Muslim diatribe attributed to the mayor, reappeared in 2021 with a photo that shows a Belgian politician and a Muslim man. Clearly visible in the photo's background is the European Commission building, the Berlaymont building, in Brussels.

As for the text of the post, the city's statement called it "false news," adding that neither the mayor nor any city representatives had made such remarks.
