Did the UN station armored vehicles outside a pharmaceutical company in Canada?

This is a case of photos leading to incorrect leaps of logic and to a wrong conclusion.

Images of armored vehicles clearly marked with "UN" sitting outside a warehouse in Toronto were shared on social media. That warehouse was previously occupied by a pharmaceutical company. The social media post implied that the U.N. was guarding the pharmaceutical company.

But the building is now occupied by a company that makes armored vehicles like the ones photographed.

The company, INKAS, announced its acquisition of a new plant in Toronto at the start of 2020.

INKAS confirmed to Lead Stories that the vehicles in the photos were parked outside the company's facility, and that the pharmaceutical company is no longer located there. A company spokesman said the armored vehicles are to be used in "UN peacekeeping efforts outside of North America."
