Hispanics who say they are conservative have generally aligned with Republican candidates in presidential elections for the past forty years. A 2012 national survey found that 34% of Hispanics identified as politically conservative; a 2010 survey by a Texas newspaper found that 54% of Hispanic voters in that state identified as conservative.
Support for Republican presidential candidates since Ronald Reagan has ranged around that level, peaking at 44% support among Hispanics in 2004 for George W. Bush's reelection. Mitt Romney and Donald Trump underperformed, at 27% in 2012 and 28% in 2016. As for 2020, a June poll by Marist College found Trump back in line with historic levels, at 39%.
