YES

It isn't giving a timetable, but the news organization's new head is publicly committing the company to raise the proportion of people of color on its 3,000-person staff to 50% from 27% today. "We want to increase diversity and inclusion both in front of and behind the camera," NBCUniversal News Group Chairman Cesar Conde told the Los Angeles Times, noting the increasingly diverse makeup of the audiences it reaches.

The NBC group's current level of people of color compares to an industry average of 21.9%, according to a survey by an industry group. The group's parent company, Comcast Corp., reports that 62% of its employees were women or people of color at the end of 2018.
