June 2020 was the third-warmest on record, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, tying with June 2015. But that's not to say June 2020 wasn't warm in relative terms, as both June this year and last, which was the warmest on record, were more than 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit hotter than the average June in the 20th century.
