Was Rep. Adam Schiff convicted of treason?

NO

There's no evidence the California Democrat was convicted of anything.

The claim was published by a website known for publishing made-up allegations and that falsely reported in May that Schiff had been arrested. A spokesperson for the congressman told Lead Stories those claims weren't true, and Schiff has done interviews and been active on social media since his supposed arrest.

The website that published the false story -- Real Raw News -- has a long history of publishing false claims. It reported that Hillary Clinton was hanged (she wasn't), it said that former White House Chief of Staff John Podesta was executed (he wasn't), and it reported that the military convicted former Attorney General William Barr of treason (that didn't happen, either).

The website for Real Raw News includes a disclaimer that warns readers not to take its content too seriously.
